What Role for Adefovir?
Low-dose adefovir is a promising agent for patients with 3TC-resistant hepatitis B virus infection. Higher doses, however, were not associated with virologic or immunologic benefits in a large study of patients with HIV infection and were associated with considerable nephrotoxicity.
