AZT + 3TC in Pregnancy

Combination therapy with AZT and 3TC was more effective in reducing perinatal transmission than AZT alone; however, 3TC treatment was associated with high rates of hematologic toxicity in newborns and development of 3TC-associated resistance mutations in mothers.
