Top HIV/AIDS Stories of 2009

The editors' and readers' top 10 stories from the past year

Dear Readers,

Next week, the editors of Journal Watch AIDS Clinical Care will provide our annual review of what we considered to be the most important stories in HIV medicine this year. First, though, we offer two "Top 10" lists:

  • The Editors' Choice list includes the stories that we as editors think are especially interesting for practicing HIV clinicians. It's essentially a preview of what you'll find in our annual review.
  • The Readers' Choice list includes the stories from 2009 that were viewed most frequently on our website.

What's interesting is how little overlap there is between the two lists, with the readers' favorites being clinical cases from our "Antiretroviral Rounds" feature, and the editors' choices being summaries of recent journal articles. The case "Stuck in the Middle" seemed to strike a particularly resonant chord with you, as your view on how the case should be managed (and mine, for the record) differed substantially from what our experts said!

We hope you enjoy browsing these two lists and would be happy to field your comments and suggestions, either by e-mail (ACCfeedback@mms.org) or by using the "Reader Remarks" feature at the end of this note.
